If you are anything like me, you love to sneak away for a little Happy Hour and pretend that you aren’t going to spend the next hour (or more) in traffic to go less than 10 miles before getting home.
With Tap’t Beer & Kitchen just around the corner from my office and currently in their soft opening phase, we knew it was the time to strike and check out their happy hour offerings for ourselves.
Tucked in the back corner of the Prolific Oven, Tap’t focuses on community, craft beer, and elevated bar food. Despite the fact that we popped in during the soft open, the food was so yum.
When I first spied the pretzels & beer cheese on the menu I immediately knew I wanted that in my face (because truly who doesn’t want to smash a warm soft pretzel dunked in oozy beer cheese right in their mouth).
If you’re looking for an indulgent happy hour, you’ve got to go to Tap’t because not only can you get aforementioned pretzels, you can get house made chicharones (served with a sprinkle of Tajin).
In between a couple of other dishes we also got some delightful tacos, which for two people is the perfect portion to fill up your tummy without taking up valuable space for other nibbles.
And by other nibbles I mean the decadent fried pickles. Not sure how you feel about fried pickles but personally I am a FAN (as if you couldn’t already tell from my last post where I also featured an order of fried pickles #mopickleslessprobs). There’s something about the two different types of crunch from the pickle and the batter and the balance of fat to acid all in one bite. I like dat.
If you’re in the mood for some casual bites and you happen to be in downtown Sunnyvale, consider your next meal at Tap’t Beer & Kitchen.
